Rachel Rosenthal

Rachel Rosenthal is a David Hartman Center Fellow whose research focuses on the intersection of Talmud and pedagogy. She received her PhD in Rabbinic Literature from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where her dissertation focused on how rabbinic analysis of the case of the stubborn and rebellious son provides models for moral education and development. Rachel is an adjunct assistant professor of Talmud at JTS, where she was voted Professor of the Year in 2018. She was a Wabash Teaching Fellow at JTS, and a fellow at the Center for Jewish Law and Contemporary Civilization at Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School. She teaches at Central Synagogue, Lincoln Square Synagogue, and in a variety of other settings. She has also served on the faculty of the Maimonides Scholars Program, Nishma: A Summer of Torah Study, and Drisha.
